Feeding your mind every single day
Faith & Journaling
Faith isn’t about being religious — it’s about having a real, consistent relationship with God. Just like exercise builds your body, feeding your mind daily builds your faith and protects your peace.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 — My anchor verseMy faith journey
It’s a relationship, not a religion.
Ever since the beginning of my cancer journey, faith has been the foundation under everything else. When I didn’t have answers, I had God. When the fear was loud, I had scripture. When I didn’t know what the future held, I had Jeremiah 29:11 — and I still stand on it every single day.
I want to be clear about something I believe deeply: it’s about having a relationship with God and Jesus — not about being religious. Religion is rules. A relationship is real. It’s personal. It’s daily. And it has carried me through things I never could have survived on my own.
I may not always show up in a building on Sunday, but I listen to service religiously. I open the YouVersion Bible app every single day for my devotions and reading plans. I feed my brain with the Word the way I feed my body with clean food — intentionally, consistently, because I know what happens when I don’t.
There is so much out there that will infiltrate your thoughts if you let it. Fear, doubt, comparison, negativity — it’s everywhere. The only antidote I’ve found that actually works is filling your mind with something stronger. That’s what daily faith practice does. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being consistent.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2My daily practice
Daily devotions
Every morning I open the YouVersion Bible app and follow a reading plan. This is non-negotiable for me — it sets the tone for my entire day.
Sunday service
I listen to service every Sunday — religiously. I may not always be in the building but I am always present in spirit and in attention.
Journaling
Writing is how I process, pray, and reflect. Getting thoughts out of my head and onto paper has been one of the most healing things I do for my mental and spiritual health.
Consistency over perfection
Faith is like exercise — you don’t get strong by going once. You get strong by showing up every day, even when it’s hard, even when you don’t feel like it.
The app I use every day
YouVersion — The Holy Bible App
This is the app I have used since the beginning of my journey. It has hundreds of reading plans — for grief, healing, fear, cancer, and so much more. I do my devotions here every single morning. It is completely free and available on every device. If you don’t have it yet, download it today.
Free to download — this is not an affiliate link, just a genuine recommendation from my heart.

Books & journals I recommend
A word for where you are right now.
If you are in a hard chapter — a diagnosis, a surgery, a season of fear — I want you to know that faith is not about having it all figured out. It is about showing up anyway. Opening the app anyway. Writing in the journal anyway. Listening to the service anyway.
You don’t have to feel it to do it. You do it until you feel it. That’s what consistency builds — not just habit, but trust. Trust that God is still writing your story. Trust that this chapter is not the end.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13Feed your mind every single day. Protect your peace. And keep going — chapter by chapter. 🌸
