My story

From diagnosis to healing — chapter by chapter

Angelica

Hi, I’m Angelica.

I’m a breast cancer survivor living on Florida’s beautiful Space Coast with my beautiful family.

My journey began in 2014 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2015 I had my double mastectomy, and what followed was more than a decade of learning how to heal — not just physically, but in every area of my life.

In 2026 I took the next step and underwent DIEP flap breast reconstruction after my implants ruptured, completing a chapter I had been working toward for years.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”

Proverbs 31:25

My chapter by chapter journey

2014

Diagnosis

My world changed with a breast cancer diagnosis. It was the beginning of a chapter I never expected — and the start of everything I would learn about healing.

2015

Double mastectomy

I underwent a double mastectomy and began the long road of physical and emotional recovery. What followed was more than a decade of learning to heal in every area of my life.

2015 – 2025

A decade of healing

Over twelve years I researched and tested supplements, focused on nutrition, and made choices that helped my body recover and thrive. I am not a doctor — but I am someone who has lived this from the inside out and found what actually works.

2026

DIEP flap reconstruction

After my implants ruptured, I underwent DIEP flap breast reconstruction — completing a chapter I had been working toward for years. A new beginning, with so much to share.

This blog exists because I searched for honest, real information during my journey and couldn’t always find it. So I decided to write it myself. Here at Healing Chapter By Chapter I share what I’ve learned across more than a decade — recovery after mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction, nutrition and supplements that supported my healing, and honest encouragement rooted in my faith in God. One chapter at a time.

“If you are walking through your own chapter right now — you are not alone.”

Come as you are. Read what resonates. And know that someone who has walked this road is right here with you.
